rack mounted tube screamer

Quick question.... I know ive read about Behringers tubescreamer here somewhere where people actually liked it(It did its job).. do you guys know which one??? Looking for a cheap one on ebay haha

easy.

get a piece of wood, around 5mm thick, cut it so it fits exactly in your rack.
grab your tubescreamer, use 2 screws and something like this [ http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:.../images/4976fb552d1ea2.5/so621340_0441267.jpg don't know how it's called in english :) ] and just bolt the fucker down to the wood.
then get another 4 screws and screw the wood panel to the bottom of your rack [with the stuff being on the inside obviously haha]
done.

i did exactly this with my wireless (cheap half sized rack thingy), tubescreamer, and signal splitter, and it works great, and is basically free.

if you every want to un-rack your stuff, well just unscrew the wooden plate. you'll only have 4 small holes where the screws were in the rack, that's it. you can even fill them up with wood and glue if you're really picky about this kinda stuff.

Cut holes in a box.

Put your junk in the box.

Put the box in the rack.

Make your girlfriend carry the rack, open the box, and manage your pedals because that shit is no fun.

Hmmm... never thought of building one into a chassis, definatly intreged to have a go now... would be awsome to have it

cheers guys

God damn dude don't be so lazy look through the thread again.

Anyhow, that metal striping with the holes in it is used for hanging pipe in houses. I actually had the same idea when trying to come up with a way to rack mount a mbox 2 (although what I really wanted to do is tear the fucker apart and rack mount the guts, fucking impossible I found).

Now this is really growing on me. And is also way more of a possibility than converting an amp into a rack preamp. *twists evil mustache*

Wow i never thought of building my own, relativly simple schematics as well ;)

Does anyone know if you can get a custom urm... whats it called... the plastic front strip if you know what i meen so that i could get a proper print for the front plate?

You can get rack chassis face plates silk screened by mannnny people on the net. There are other options as well, like printing on a transparency (if you have a laser printer available) and basically making a waterslide decal out of it, etc.

I think I really will do this, make it green as fuck.
