This way of releasing the album is a big fist in the face of the big record labels. Go Radiohead for having balls to try this out, hope it works. Basically the band doesnt have a record deal so they decided to releasee the album by them selves for free. Bands dont make much from album sales, instead they make money from gigs, so why not do this. And for the die hard fans there is still the box set, which is freaking cool and got my order.

Cant wait to hear the new album!!

This kind of release wont of course work for all bands, especially smaller ones. But for a band like Radiohead, who will sell a million+ even if they put our a blank disc, this move is a good one that puts even more pressure on hudge record labels to provide music for less money. They eliminated the middle man...

Its finally out, and upon first listen, it sounds very good. Anybody else got it yet? You can download it from their website for whatever price you want.

I paid 6 pounds for mine, which is cool knowing they get all the money instead of a record label getting it. And I probably will get the discbox later.

Anyway, just looking for reactions to what may just be the album of the year.

I never got a link sent to me for pre-ordering but luckily there were a shit load of torrents up already. So far I'm loving it! I watched live vids of most of the songs and I loved them, now listening to them on the actual album I love them even more

This is the best radiohead since OK Computer and Kid A. I'm listening for the third time right now and this is great, great stuff. Might be my album of the year.
