Randall Amps

I dunno, I remember seeing Scar Symmetry and Insomnium, and both guitarists in both bands were using T2 full stacks that sounded pretty damn good to me

When I had a band I played some rehearsals with my T2, the other guy played a recto.... I couldn't hear my tone even though the amp is 300 watt and I don't scoop mids at all.
worst amp ever if you play with another guy who has a tube amp.
I guess both scar symmetry guys had a good sound because they both were playing the t2

This was the best I could do with the V2 and impulses, using the solid state channel, bass guitar helped alot here

Personally I'd have to disagree there, I've never had a problem cutting through with a T2. The sweep knob really helps.

I havent played either of those all tube series, but Ive heard good things about the MTS.
I'm very excited to see what Mr. Fortin brings to the company :)

^ nice!

i guess there's a difference between the ’ninja' and a stock V2 as well as between the 'archetype' and the T2? otherwise they wouldn't have sent you one of each, right?

edit: nevermind, i found the answer on the last page

Don't know, I'm not the first one saying the amp is muddy and can't cut trough.
I guess you were lucky.
Yes the sweep change the midrange a little bit, but it is not like night and day

Not going to disagree with the problems the amp has, the high end is what really winds me up about it, either really dark and muddy or if you crank the high end to open it up a bit you get that lovely scratchy sound....
I could never get the amp to sound good under a mic either. I think you are right, Randall tried to get that tube sound by overcompensating the "throatiness" and made a compromised amp.

Can't wait to hear the Gus G T2 though, I wanted that originally but it was out of stock. I already know I'm going to wish I had it lol!

I'm actually digging them.
The t2hh sounds a bit more open, raw and organic than the v2, but the extra master volume, attack switch and graphic EQ make the v2 more versatile and useful for low volume playing....
Esp the attack switch is nice since the sub lows can get a bit too much on these amps, the attack switch set to "tight" helps a lot with that. I don't know which one I like better atm, both have their qualities.
I don't like the SS channel on the v2 too much, but the tube overdrive is really nice on both models.
Overall a very unique sound...some tiny similarities to a krank perhaps

Definitely like the sound better on the nevermore clip you did with the DM cabinet!

Also shameless plug, my V2 is in the For Sale Section right now ;)
