on topic of the other thread titled "top 100 progressive rock bands" i made a small list of a few of my favorite progressive rock songs. here it is again, since its obviously on topic here as well.

King Crimson - Epitaph
Yes - And You And I
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Caravan - Nine Feet Underground
Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust
Camel - Lady Fantasy
Renaissance - Can You Understand
Cathedral - Introspect
Porcupine Tree - Waiting
Gracious - The Dream
Genesis - The Cinema Show
Anekdoten - Hole
Ragnarok - Walks
Tudor Lodge - Help Me Find Myself
Linda Hoyle - Journey's End
Cressida - Home And Where I Long To Be
Dungen - Solen Stiger Upp
Landberk - Tell
Pussy - Tragedy In F Minor
The Moody Blues - Ride My See Saw
Linda Perhacs - Who Really Cares
Paatos - Hypnotique

anyone else who would like to, feel free to post your favorite songs and we can discuss them and whatnot. :)

some of my favorites:

Camel - Lunar Sea (Mikael's adulation of this prompted me to find it, which was my first taste of 70s prog)
Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink
Gracious - Introduction
Fraction - Come Out Of Her (although it's psych, not really prog)
Museo Rosenbach - Della Natura
Porcupine Tree - A Smart Kid (love the vocal melodies)
Beatles - A Day In The Life (didn't really dawn on me as being prog until Mikael mentioned it, but I love that song)
Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever
King Crimson - Sailor's Tale

Didn't read through the whole thread, but I see that Camel has been mentioned a couple times at the end.

A friend just hooked me up with the 2 CD Echoes compilation. I've really only given disc one a good listen and I'm really digging it. Why weren't they more popular back in their time? Too much instrumental(which I love), some songs to long maybe?

Pretty talented group.

Seth

Landberk has to be mentioned. Especially over Paatos, though I've started liking both their albums a lot more recently.

What do you guys think of Red Sparowes?

King Crimson - Epitaph (yeah, already mentioned, but a kick-arse song nonetheless)

Camel - Spirit of the Water

Comus - Drip drip

Yes - Close to the Edge (how predictable of me)

Uriah Heep - Sunrise

Premiata Forneri Marconi - Per Un Amico

Led Zeppelin - No Quarter

Nektar - Countenance

Porcupine Tree - The Moon Touches Your Shoulder

Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness

I got a few albums for xmas that belong in this thread

Blackfield - Very good album, I really like aviv's voice, Summer or hole in me is probably my fav. The bonus disk is quite cool, the version of cloudy now live is just about identicle to the album version but its cool.

Caravan - For girls who grow plump at night

Curved Air - 2nd Album

Porcupine Tree - recordings

Havent listened to the other three yet but am looking forward to it.
