Dave Murray (Iron Maiden) = 7
Janick Gers (Iron Maiden) = 6
Kirk Hammett (Metallica) = 6 but 7 on the Black album, great solos
Steve Vai = 8
Yngwie Malmsteen = 6 I hate him and he sounds bland
Joe Satriani = 9
Michael Angelo (Nitro & solo artist) = 10 for skill, 6 for melody, so an 8 overall, nice solo in Crazy Love though
Vinnie Vincent (Kiss & VVI) = 9, best riffs ever, great sound, brilliant songwriter, needs more melody in solos
Ace Frehley (Kiss & Frehley's Comet) = 6, catchy and distinctive but never moved past the 70s sound
Bruce Kulick (Kiss) = 8 very talented and melodic
Marty Friedman (Cacophony & Megadeth) = 9 for Speed Metal Symphony alone
Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) = 7
Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) = 6, very influencial and great riffs
Randy Rhoads (Ozzy) = 10, always found the perfect notes
Jake E Lee (Ozzy & Badlands) = 9, very exciting and flashy
Zakk Wydle (Ozzy & Black Label Society) = 8, very exciting and unique guitarist
Vivian Campbell (Dio, Whitesnake & Def Leppard) = 8 with Dio, 6 now.
George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob) = 10+ one of the best ever, great melody, flashy, exciting, just brilliant!
Warren DeMartini (Ratt) = 9, extremely slick with a sexy sound and greta sense of melody, mean riffs too!
Mick Mars (Motley Crue) = 4, the weakest link in Crue imo.
Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) = 7, great rhythm guitarist
Kerry King (Slayer) = MINUS 10, alright he is an ok rhythm guitarist, but awful lead guitarist
Jeff Hanneman (Slayer) = 3, very boring but not terrible
Al Pitrelli (Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Savatage) = 10, amazing on Alice Trashes The World
Alex Skolnick (Testament) = 8
CC DeVille (Poison) = 8, underrated.. and very fun. And the Life Goes On solo is fantastic
Slash (Guns N Roses, Slash's Snakepit) = 8, good rock guitarist
Andy LaRoque (King Diamond) = 8
Angus Young (AC/DC) = 6 simple but fun
Paul Gilbert (Racer X) = 7 very talented..
Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) = 8 very diverse, fantastic guitarist
Richie Blackmore (Rainbow, Deep Purple) = 7, very influencial
Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen) = 10+++ best ever. :D Flashy, melodic, inventive, original, influencial, and WAY ahead of his time in '78.
 
Alexi (Children Of Bodom) = MINUS 10. The most unmelodic, boring, weak sounding guitar solos I've ever heard. He has no idea how to write a guitar solo. Awful.

Koichi I'm sure you're better than Kerry King :) It doesn't take much... hehe.
 
Didn't Jaymz play the solos on the Black album? I thought I read somewhere that they wanted to "change the sound" so James did the majority of the solos.

As for my list, there's too many there and I can't be bothered.

But one scored less then jon shaffer.

ooo look at me, I can play 4 riffs over 6 or so albums, I'm a guitar master, can't bang me head but.

that was my shaffer impression.
 
I was rating him for rhythm :headbang: Try playing Dantes Inferno all the way through, or going from Stormrider straight into The Path I Choose live and tell me he isnt good :D

Angus rocks way more then shaffer ever will dream of rocking, ACDC are part of your national heritage, Angus wrote so many good songs to drink beer to, and commands your respect for that much.
