Re Issues

The live CD is simply the audio from the DVD show. It's all done, and ready to go. We just haven't handed it into the label yet. Like Larry said, we need to spread the releases out a bit.

I'm REALLY looking forward to working on The Knowing. We're going to completely re-mix, touch up, and make that recording sound brand new. The mix has always been a sore spot, and we finally have the opportunity, and the technology to fix it.

Haha, that's not a lot indeed.

I took the liberty to take these from your MySpace:

Left the cover for The Novella Vosselaar live CD and on the right The Knowing.
Looks great, both of them! Who did the artwork? The guy from Pale Haunt and DVD artwork?

Edit....
Oh shit, they're a bit small though. :p

I find it hard to believe that The Knowing could be any better than it already is, but I nevertheless am looking forward to the rerelease - it'll be nice to hear a new take on the material.

I've seen the women from the rerelease cover before, I believe. It certainly seems very familiar. Something to do with Meanspark, perhaps? I don't know why I'm making this connection, but it must come from somewhere (if I'm not just imagining things). But anyway, whoever's work it is, it looks great, indeed.

Understand that we're not going to do a re-recorded version of "The Knowing", you're going to still hear the same album in terms of the original recorded tracks. What's gonna happen is that it's going to be remastered and more importantly remixed, so that everything can be heard the way it should be....

To give you an example, the kick drums on a majority of that album are very buried. There's parts where Joe is kickin' some pretty mean double-bass, and it's just muddy and somewhat inaudible. Things like that will be remixed and put more properly back into the mix. There are other things like that....some backing vocal stuff, guitar bits, etc.....that also wound up suffering a bit in the final mix, that will be fixed and put where they should be. Even just the remastering alone is going to make a noticeable, positive difference. Alot of this stuff is subtle, but all together will make a positive change to the sound of the album and breathe some new life into it, and more importantly it'll sound the way we'd always intended for it to sound. But fans of the original needn't worry, I don't think it's going to sound drastically different to where it'll lose it's charm or not have the same appeal. It's just gonna sound a whole hell of alot better cranked on your stereo now :)

I'm thinking of ordering one of the shirt/CD combos from The End's site. Which would you guys suggest? Amid Its Hallowed Mirth or Of Sculptured Ivy and Stone Flowers?

The only stuff I've heard so far is The Pale Haunt Departure and my favorite song from that Collapse of the Fallen Throe.

Thanks. I think I'll check out Of Sculptured...

:kickass:

Also, what exactly is on the Of Sculptured... shirt? The image on The End's site is really small and I can't find another one...
