Sure, we're all biased, but did anything really challenge WCFYA as record of 2003 ?????

I thought nothing would until I heard Machine Head's "Through The Ashes Of Empires". An awesome record also. Both my = records of the year.

Your thoughts ??

I like anthrax's and machine heads cds when it comes to the straightup metal cds of the year. I find many cds in different genres of metal slightly better though. I think these 2 cds though should have many songs that could have been played on rock radio if rock radio had any sense to it.

Up by Shania Twain

:D

...seriously, I liked Elephant by the White Stripes.

Oh, and Shania's Twains(sorry, she's got a nice body)

Probably Killing Joke new release is a close second to me.
And yeah, Souvenirs by The Gathering and King Diamond: Puppet Master.
But WCFYA is still my top one, and I try not to be biased :)

If WCFYA is so good (it is), then you know what.......
WE SHOULD HAVE MORE STREET TEAMERS STREET TEAMING FOR IT!!!!!!!!

Kracker's a cool guy, and extremely down to earth. I don't know him personally, but have met him and know people who are friends with the Brown Trucker Band.

S'funny, I remember before Kid Rock was big, he was playing these local joints and just PACKING 'em in here. They always kept there heads, but seemed to know that they'd make it one day.

i am yet to hear and uncle cracker song but i bet that country album is fucking killer,i will be getting kid rocks newie too, just a great progression from just a great artist, his latest album is already being slammed for being too mature, what a joke, kid rock writes from the heart and if he feels like doing a ballad or a country song he does it and doesnt give a fuck what anyone else says!!!

Thats one thing that I love about Kid Rock, he writes some really great songs that are 100% pure country and they kick ass. He's so diverse, and for someone like myself who likes almost all genres of music, thats a wonderful thing. Not a lot of people realize how talented he really is :erk:

~Did I even buy any metal albums this year? Let's see... Kreator's Live album was great. Unfortunately it made me realise that I wasn't the biggest Kreator fan, (hey it only took me 13 years to figure it out! lol) but bless them for staying true and coming back strong. Soilwork blew it, Metallica's not even worth mentioning, Morbid Angel's album had possibly the worst guitar sound I've ever heard. Sepultura are just lost and should never be found, and even though it was nice to hear Nuclear Assault playing again their live album sounded like they hadn't played their instruments in years. The worst part about In Flames' Trigger EP is that in a year or two they'll attach it to the Reroute to Remain album expecting fans to buy the item twice. Hey I'm one of the few who like Reroute and Trigger, but why should I buy the things twice? Speaking of EPs Iced Earth's the Reckoning was pretty sub-par. The vocals of Tim Owens may break their upcoming record. The only two metal albums that impressed me this year was WCFYA and Nevermore's Enemies of Reality. Nevermore beats Anthrax because of the horror of Cadillac Rock Box.

~The best non-metal album has to go to the Rockman X1-6 soundtrack. Well actually it is metal, but it certainly isn't traditional considering the music comes from a video game series. Album of the year goes to Kelly Osbourne's Changes! Just kidding. No disrespect Kelly, just find an original sound.

The new Sevendust album Seasons is great, as well as the new Black Label Society The Blessed Hellride (although still not as good as Sonic Brew)......but I think WCFYA is easily the best metal record of the last few years, not just this year.

While St. Anger was a bit of a disspointment after the newness wore off, it still had a couple of fine moments on it. Frantic, St. Anger, Dirty Window to name a few. Lots of potential, but the sound of the album sucks too bad for repeated listenings.

Lets see: The new Black Label Society ruled, the Coldplay album ruled, new Jane's Addiction was great...........ah that's about it.

I'm also waiting for the Velvet Revolver album. There was a time in the early 90's when I was a bigger Guns n' Roses fan than I was a fan of Anthrax or Metallica. That band at their prime fucking KICKED ASS. As a guitar player, and overall music fan, being deprived of Slash's amazing talent as a lead guitar player over the last decade has been a tragedy.

Good year for metal:

Anthrax
Iron Maiden
BLS
Shadow's Fall
Lamb of God
SYL

Shadow's Fall reminds me a lot of old school Anthrax. Lamb of God might be the angriest band ever... even more so than Slayer.
