Hey guys i was thinking the other day how cool it would be to compare a raw guitar track recorded by andy or some of the other pro guys on this fourm and one recorded by me just to see the difference in quality. I was thinking there is no accurate way to do this unless i had the exact same track as we all no the difference in guitar/pickup/strings/plectrum/player can be quite substantial.
Soooo i propose that we upload some pretty decent d.i clips (say 20 sec clips of a few different styles) that people can reamp and post their results and see how they stack up against everyone else it could be a great way to improve your guitar micing skills.
It would be realy cool if we got some heavy weights (james, andy, some of the other many people who get killer tone on this fourm) to give it a try also.
We just need to agree on what the sample D.i's will be used and what range of styles should be covered within the sample d.i's.

ha well if you wanted the very same sound yes buts not everyone has the same amp so im just trying to get everyone on as much as a level playing pitch as i can for the comparison. Also i think it would be cool way to hear the character of some amps you dont own but other people do.
