List of raw songs for our mixing practice

hey guys any acoustic song stems out there to mix? preferably some progressive/stoner/sludge type deals, but i'll take anything for practice.

PS: Does ANYONE still have the stems for the Acid Jesus song? I really like that stoner'southern vibe, and it'd be a hell of a ride to mix it.

Anyone know of some alternative metal/hard rock similar to Staind floating around? My band is getting close to recording our EP and I want to try my hand mixing something like that to prepare for mixing the EP.

For those who don't know, Kevin Talley is the drummer for Daath, Six Feet Under, and ex-tons of amazing bands : Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira, ... His drum track sounds awesome btw.

I'm very curious to know if those DIs and miked tracks are "good" (i know the performance is not great, i'm thinking more about the levels/editing/recording quality here) or not, since it was the first time i was tracking and editing both DIs and miked tracks at the same time.

Also curious to hear my guitar tracks reamped by other people :)

EDIT : Great thread by the way ! Thanks @LeSedna !

critique/comments would be great :)
Using Midi bass for the first time being a bass player myself was quite odd I'll admit haha
Thanks guys!

Good to hear versions of that "song" but sounds a bit odd to be honest (and the levels are not balanced at all : drums are too quiet, clean guitar arpeggio is too loud, etc)...

Can you explain what you've done exactly ?

I didn't do a whole lot to the drums, and I guess I haven't really gotten used to the whole balancing thing yet (haha). Pretty much everything except the bass had a High pass on it at around 80/90 and I used a lot of Compression. Just doing it for fun really!

Does anybody have a song recorded with EMG 81? Let me know if you do :).

This one has EMG81 on one side, and EMG81TW on the other :

It really would be great to have sub forum, because honestly, over half the links in this thread are dead, and a good portion are not usable for me since it's mostly guitar DIs. Having a subforum would bring more attention to the need of stems to practice with, and eventually have more variance in whats' available to work with.

yo Djabthrash here u go bud, i did it pretty quick i used my own reamps tho :p axe fx 2 all the way :p drums i didnt do much compressed a little tiny tad of eq and that was it but the bass i did a lot of work on, also dude u got any other songs to mix? id loves to mix more, i know it was a contest entry but if u got any songs u wants mixxed send them my way free of charge i liked mixxing this a lot
