I just stumbled across this. Never even knew it existed.

Affects incoming signal only.

Anyone use this feature? I'm totally going to try compressing vocals on the way in.

I've never tried it because I don't really see how you can benefit from it. Its still the same effects as normal except you have to commit to it upon tracking right? Maybe there is something I'm missing.

I'm using it on pre-production, but I like to record completely raw for final stuff.

This is what I was thinking. But, I hear a lot of guys making workflow quicker/easier, for example, if vocals are slightly compressed on the way in.

Hmmm so you'd basically be recording the "printed" track then?

This also seems like it could end up screwing you in the end if you need to tweak settings.

Good one. You can record 2 channels at the same time. One with the DI and one with the amp sim applied so it doesn't drain CPU when you're listening back.
