I decided to spend some time looking for new music, and thought I'd ask you guys for your advice.

To help, here are the bands I listen to now.

In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Dimmu Borgir, Therion, Nightwish, Dying Fetus, Slayer, Iced earth, Lilitu, Tool, Children of Bodom, Darkwell, Opeth, Fear Factory, Tristania, The Sins Of Thy Beloved

Some non-death stuff I like.

Faithless, DJ Tiesto, Delerium, Madonna, Christopher Lawrence, ATB, New Amorphis (haven't tried their old stuff yet), Andromeda.

Any reccomendations?

Metal:
Katatonia

Emperor
...

Non-Metal:
Summoning
A Perfect Circle

You need to listen the last of My Dying Bride.
Other great recommendations are:

Arcturus
Esdge of Sanity
Old Amorphis
Ayreon
New and old Anathema
Archenemy
Borknagar
Ulver (you can choose new, old or both)

if your into really original metal try out maudlin of the well. i just got "bath" and "leaving your body map" and have been blown away. you should also check out sculpture, again, some of the most amazing music i've ever heard. both of these bands have an opethish sound to them, only with more jazz influences, and maudlin of the well has female vocals alot.

and on the non-metal side of things i've been listening to alot of pink floyd lately. also gordian knot is amazing.
