Best thrash album I've heard this year, so far. It came out in late December of 2012, so it hasn't been very long. But like I said before, I can't imagine there being another album to beat it. The thing I like about Paradox is, they're a Power Metal band disguised as a Thrash band. In my opinion, it gives them an 'edge' over most other groups who play this style. Check out their cover of the Rainbow song, "A Light in the Black" as a good example.

Album f***ing rules so hard. One of my tops this year, easily.

Not taking anything away from Overkill, Testament, Anthrax, etc; they put out strong albums, recently but it's too bad paradox isn't/won't be mentioned alongside those bands, for releasing great new music, as well. It's criminal, really. I just don't understand the business sometimes. Consistent bands like Paradox, who have been around for 25+ years, and release one great album after another; their attempts go ultimately unnoticed. I have an even deeper respect for Paradox. for being basically an independent band, they've never given up, literally, even in the face of death.

I gotta agree on the new Paradox album, amazing stuff indeed! I don't quite agree with them consistantly releasing great albums though. Since the comeback I've only enjoyed "Collision Course" as a whole. "Electrify" I thought had it's moments but the last one was severely lacking...everything I think. But back to the happy news again, new album slays!! :D

New purchases:

The Babys - Union Jacks
John Waite - Ignition

What I mean by consistent is this; compare "Collision Course" to "Riot Squad". You might not think that the production is that great, but the songwriting is still up to the standard they laid out earlier in their recording career. Now compare, say...Overkill's "Taking Over" with "From The Underground...And Below". no comparison. And by that I mean 'consistently great'.

Bang - Bullets (4 cd box set)

Between the Bang and OG box sets, you'll be grooving for weeks.

Looks legit to me. Unless bootleggers are now matching original CD index codes. most bootlegs I have do not have any # that could be used to identify the pressing machine. it usually just has the album title on it or something.

Also, I have some CDs I have had since I was high school that are still in good shape. So it just depends on collector i would assume.

Thanks for the info. Wow, I'm surprised. These are in mint condition. Maybe Steamhammer just did a re-press of them. I did some research, and copies of the three Risk albums are available through many different online distributors, with most being sold as 'new'. So, this just might be the case...

Matrix # is: CDP-BERLIN-85-7593 01

I wish there was a site dedicated to comparing CD's. I'm positive I must own at least 30+ bootlegs...

I checked out my two Risk cds last night and the matrix matches but the there are other differences. My Hell's Animals, which is definitely the original looks like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Risk-Hells-...300877306609?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item460daf5af1
The print on the cd are totally different, and the back cover, logo on the front are a dark greenish blue, not black which yours looks to be.
As for Daily Horror News, it looks much closer but the matrix number is in a different location, closer to the centre hole and the logo on the cd has the returns around the edges of the letters for the 3d look.
They could be originals but different pressings like the Noise presses that had many different versions of the cd graphics-some painted a colour, others just silver with black print etc. If you got those Risk's from Greece or Russia for a cheap price, i'd assume they're fakes though

Yes "matrix" i call it index. that is just my quirk. Bottom line is bootleggers are getting more crafty. The other thing to always consider is when these were originally pressed most big labels were having them printed in different territories so things can change each time. I know over the years and pressings I made adjustments to my better selling titles making changes. My ATREYU cd has spine text color changes, my logo swapped out if I am remembering correctly, etc.

The other thing I have noticed about some of my boots is the printwork isn't as crisp as the original since they are pulling from scans and don't seem to be cleaning them up really. just going as is. so that is something to look out for. But I still say a boot is better than nothing. :)

thanks for taking the time to compare them. Yes, your "Hell's..." disc is much better, printing wise. I did notice how cheaply done the graphics were on my copy. That was actually the first thing that 'tipped' me off. But, the card stock used to produce the inlay's are really good quality. Overall, mostly due to the matrix codes matching, I think they're probably legit, but a 'cheap' version. This is in reference to "Hells Animals" and "The Daily Horror News...". My copy of "Dirty Surfaces" is definitely an original first edition. I read some info that SPV/Steamhammer did do a 'reissue' of these in 2003. Assuming these are those, it appears they did a very quick job of it, and just re-pressed those, with absolutely nothing 'updated' about it. The 'made in west-germany' on the insert, and the 'CDP-BERLIN' is strange because if it is an original, the printing and graphics would be consistent on all copies, I would assume, but they're not.

But, if they are bootlegs, they did a very good job of it. But like Matt said, 'unless bootleggers are now matching CD index codes'. Looks legit to me...
