Reclaiming hard drive space

Besides the usual "empty recycle bin" deleting old projects and their audio files, removing unused programs, etc., does anyone have any tips on reclaiming hard drive space? It seems like every once in a while I'll go through my drives, deleting old files and stuff, but its like the numbers don't quite add up. I know its natural to slowly accumulate crap that you can't bring yourself to delete, and a new hard drive may be necessary, but it seems like I've cleaned up my drives a ton and there should be more free space than there is.

Is there like a shit ton of crap hiding somewhere? I know a reformat would do the trick, but I'm really not looking to do that right now.

Sorry for the newb question.

rar archive all the stuff you don't need to access all the time. Movies and TV shows, old (finished or abandoned) recording projects.
I'm doing that right now.

I also have 3.5TB worth of drives here for various things.

Run CCleaner once in a while instead of manually deleting things.
