recommend me a bass for my studio under 500$

The Peavey's do sound pretty damn good. I'd avoid the Soundgears but then I dislike Ibanez basses intensely. The SR's have necks like pencils.

Try out an OLP bass if you get the chance. We have a 5-string version and the sound and playability racks up against a genuine Music Man very well.
