Hey there i was wondering if anyone could give me any good tips to recording a guitar cab, im recording a re-mix of Duffy's Mercy and im hopin to get a very good rock guitar sound, the microphones i have available are SM57, RODE NTK, RODE NT2A, AKG C1000 and Neuman i cnt remember model of neuman's though.

I have thought about DI'ing aswell to get a clean sound, anyone here tend to DI that often?

Standard Sneap advice: SM57 between the dustcap and cone of the speaker (preferably Celestion V30, Greenback, or 75). I'd say start with that position and work from there--it's pretty much industry standard.

Depends on the player and amp, too.

If you've got a good picking technique (hard, in my perference) then you'll use less gain and end up with a sweeter tone.
