recording sounds, questions, premade instuments etc

ok well i jus happened to notice that matt has some pretty kickass syth sounds over all on his album and im writin my own music, all totally dont by me like he is doing his, and im looking for some better midi sounds for stuff like harpsichords, more things to kind of get that "epic backing chior" effect, and jus some great solo syths too. any good programs or anything that would work well for that? at this point im using grageband, cause im only 14 and cost is kind of tight, but im looking to expand some
