recording with impulses

If the session is serious at all, I definately mic up a cab. I only use impulses for a quick demo idea or maybe an extra guitar track to beef things up.

I was about to ask the same question .... is the diference betwen the impulse and current miced cab really big? on what aspects of the sound?

Talking about impulses, I haven't found yet any good tone using impulses.
Am, I doing anything wrong?
I track raw distorted signal from the preamp's output or PodXt without cab simulation into Cubase.
Then load Voxengo Pristine as Insert, and load GuitarHacks impulses into it.
It sounds quite well but not as well as many people in this forum.
I get a better sound with PodXt's speaker simulations.

Do I have to do anything else in voxengo?

Well you might try leaving the cab simulation on on the pod, cuz to me it sounds better that way (though you may have to tweak your pod settings a bit)

I see that everybody at here talking much about GuitarHack impulses!...
Sorry, for stupid question...What is it? And where I can get it?
Thanks in advance!
