Metallica - Black album - Mesa (Rectos and Mark IV)

In general the staple Metallica sound is Mesa, except on the first two album they used Marshall. Mark IIc+, Mark IV, Triaxis or Dual Rectifier depending on the album. Also what it comes to Michael Wagener, Puppets most likely also had some ADA MP-1 in there.

Mesa Boogie Rectifier: anything Nickelback (although I believe some of them have Peavey XXX they define the Rectifier sound to me

Not a band but Steve Evetts with his Blackstar/Orange tones fucking rule I can't get over his mixes... Love his approach on everything he does and I feel he definitely has a signature tone going on that sounds massive

To be specific engl e860. I owned one of those a few years back but never got any too useable tones out of it. Very very trebley thing and had surprisingly little gain without a boost. You had to really dig into the strings to get it to growl, which usually I won't mind because i tend to pick hard, but this thing was very undergained. It's also possible that mine wasn't in it's prime condition.

I thought they used Hughes & Kettner Triamp MkIIs for most of their career until recently?

Edit: Nevermind, seems they switched to H&K after Versus The World, and then introduced Krankenstein's alongside the Triamps before switching to all 6505s?
