rectifier guitar tone

i think i'm getting too much of the pick hitting the string which is sounding really scratchy in the stab patterns. i've messed around with eq cutting 3-5 khz but it still sounds scratchy. any suggestions??

my signal chain is
strat with invader pickup - maxon 808 - triple rectumfrier - mode 4 mf400 cab - SM58 - motu 828

i'm working in logic7 using the channel eq plug in filtering out 60hz and 12khz as well as slight tweaks and using the apple multipressor to tame the low mids.
