I've really been digging the guitar sound on Mercenary's latest CD, "Architect of Lies", so I sent the band an email asking what they used. Got this reply:

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your mail. I can't recall the exact details such as
cabinets or microphones, but we used my Bogner Überschall og Martin's
Marshall JVM410 for the rhythm guitars. I think we tracked used both
Ibanez and SChecter gutiars. Hope that helps.

As I Lay Dying - An ocean between us was the Ultra XL module, not the standard one (only interested as im borrowing my mates RM100 with the ultra module

it was randall rm100 ultra xl channel into standard boogie cab with v30s

deffo didnt see any 800s in the actual studio for recording, and doesn't sound like an 800 to me on the record either!! :-s

They used CAE 3+ tube preamps and VHT 2150 power amps on Youthanasia and Countdown to Extinction. Marty switched to the Crate Blue Voodoo after Youthanasia.

No, all guitars are direct with Axe FX amp modeling.
He does (has?) owned an Invader, but was never used for the album.
