I need some sort of di box with speaker simulation to put between the amp and cab for live gigs (in ear monitoring).

to be more serious i heard some guy using a sans amp with a palmer thing (don´t know which) and he was very satisfied.
the PDI.03 would be nice, but it's much too expensive for me, I'm looking more for something in the RedBox range

i hate the red boxes. we also had this weird loop going through the board that was making the amps noisy as shit

Secpnd the Behringer one, A/B'ed it with a Redbox and it sounded better believe it or not. Behringer built something I like

Funnily enough I remember reading the same thing before I got mine! It's certainly not the quietest box in the world, but it sounds alright and is cheap as fuck!

in that coparison I liked the pdi09 best, followed closely by the Behringer.
the redbox classic in 4x12 mode was alright, the Engl530 and redbox pro were unlistenable
