I don't even understand how people can even begin to compare Old Dissection to New Dissection. It is not the same band, the only member of the old band is Jon, so obviously a much different sound should be a given.

I've given it one listen through so far, the songs that aren't the samplers and singles actually sound a lot better to me. starless aeon and xeper i set are like my 2 least favorite off the album. maha kali sounds a lot better to me than the version before, same with almost all of the songs. Sure this isn't old Dissection, but so far if i think of it as just a new thing instead of a continuation its fine. I'd still see them live for sure and I will probably pick this up. it reminds me so much of old in flames or old gothenburg, but a bit darker at times. starless aeon though to me sounds like a hardrock song, and the video is not dark gr1m anticosmic and whatever else jon says it is.
