I don't see how anyone that's not new to melodeath could think Reinkaos is anything but mediocre. For me it's Enslaved - Ruun, with Drudkh - Blood in Our Wells, Keep of Kalessin - Armada, and Summoning - Oathbound, hot on it's heels.

Yeah, Considering Dissection helped to form the melodeath sound, and now Jon is the one following in everyone elses footsteps it seems.. I didn't like the new one, but i'll pick it up out of respect and support for the band anyway.

So far, The new Sadus was rather good.... And the Vader EP, even though it was released elsewhere in '05, since it was released in America in late January '06, i'll count that one. . That was a helluva good release, even though it was only 14 short minutes. I'm sure i'll think of more later.

why can't people just like what they like... why do people have to "know what they're talking about" because they like bands that you like. can't i know what i'm talking about even if i like different stuff than others?

it's not really a fact of what I like and what I don't like. For instance, I haven't listened a lot to the new dissection, but it's generally accepted amongst metalheads that it really sucks. I heard 2 songs... they were right.... it's just bad, that's all. I usually say you can't judge a band saying they're good or not, but in this case, when you look at the bands past catalogue, it really is bad.

Summoning, on the other hand, always succeeded in creating something awesome.

Switch around Keep of K and Summoning and you've got it perfect

... and I'm listening to it now for the first time, but I think the new Krisiun is actually not too bad. More bland than some, but if I'm in the mood for more basic death metal this seems like it fits the bill well. I'd listen to a few Morbid Angels then this.
