Who would you like to hear do an acoustic album?

Opeths acoustic/electric album 'damnation' while having some weak points(the band was writing two cds at once is great. Windowpayne alone is one of the greatest songs I have heard.

I must admit I fucking hate Damnation (I know it seems like I'm trying to argue with you, I'm not!). I find it boring and it's like elevator music. Deliverance is so much better. :headbang:

Deliverance is great. I would still say it's one of opeths weaker albums.

Nobody. Acoustics in metal are nice things to supplement the music, but being solely acoustic contradicts what metal is all about.

I agree. I would likely not buy an album from a metal band if it were entirely acoustic. I prefer a homogenous mixture of the two.

Now, that orchestral Lord of the Rings project that Blind Guardian's doing - I'm totally gonna buy that. Orchestras kick the crap out of acoustic performances. :kickass:

I would more likely buy an acoustic album if a metal band I liked wrote it. I seem to be more open minded when a band I already like expiriments.

Agreed. I love that album

Indeed. If opeth did another album similiar and did not have to worry about putting out another album at the sametime could make it even better. Mikael says it was a one time thing which sucks. Now the band has a new keyboardist and they should really expiriment in ways more. During this time in Opeth's carrer they have full support and do not have to worry about people going IT'S NOT BRUTAL ENOUGH because it's obvious those type people are not why the band is getting recognition.

Something acoustic/electric like damnation maybe alittle more heavy and aggressive would be a perfect opeth album.

No one. Limiting yourself to just doing a mellow album is pretty much always gonna end up being a let down (can anyone name a mellow album from a metal band thats better than any of their normal albums?). Forcing yourself to throw out the heavy riffs is retarded IMO and to make a truly good album no band should limit themselves. If it comes out naturally then fine, but I don't think thats ever happened.

Agreed. Although if there is a band that could do it well, it'd be Isis.. :)
