Well I thought we should really have a thread about this.

I found some amazingly emotional videos on you tube, I felt I should share them.

Quiet time to reflect on my friend Shaun, killed by a sniper in Bosnia.....he was 18 years old.
While at Gorazde, Private Shaun Taylor of C Company was killed during an engagement with Bosnian-Serb forces while manning an observation post.

27th June 1992:
Lance Corporal P H Sullivan, 3 Para. L/Cpl Coulson and L/Cpl Sullivan were killed in a drowning accident while crossing a river, during a patrol. one died going back to help his friend who had got into difficulties halfway across the river.
It was the last patrol before the Battalion left the Province.

To explain a little further for those of you that dont reside in the UK.

Rememberance day is a day where we remember those who have fallen in all wars/on active service, but mainly WW1 and WW2.

The Royal British Legion sell poppies (made from paper and plastic) which we all should wear with pride, well I do, the money raised goes to help look after the veterans.

We still have soldiers left that fought in the first world war!

Its a great thing that we do, and simply remembering those who fell and those that survived, hopefully will make us think before we have another world war.

Yes it is a great thing to remember all the surviving and fallen heroes. War is a terrible thing. Yet, ironocally enough, if it weren't for war I wouldn't be here....Linda, either...

Nice post! I had no clue as to how many countries that currently have troops serving in Iraq and Afganistan 'til I seen them. U.S., England, Germany, Romania, Poland, Canada, Korea, Bulgaria, Egypt to name a few.

Egypt? I trained with those guys in 85. They were the most pathetic military I had ever trained with. I hope they have improved. LOL

As sad as war is, I thank God for the few silver linings he blesses us with it.

Both songs deal with war veterans.
