Well I thought we should really have a thread about this.

I found some amazingly emotional videos on you tube, I felt I should share them.

And to my dearest friends no longer with us, I'll never forget you
And to all those who fell, in all conflicts modern and old. Thankyou.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Or as we call it:
Happy Veterans Day! I salute all those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces!

I was not sure if veterans day was the same day or not.

I did try to cover all nationalities, if you look at the videos, theres UK, US and canadian tributes there.

Quiet time to reflect on my friend Shaun, killed by a sniper in Bosnia.....he was 18 years old.
While at Gorazde, Private Shaun Taylor of C Company was killed during an engagement with Bosnian-Serb forces while manning an observation post.

27th June 1992:
Lance Corporal P H Sullivan, 3 Para. L/Cpl Coulson and L/Cpl Sullivan were killed in a drowning accident while crossing a river, during a patrol. one died going back to help his friend who had got into difficulties halfway across the river.
It was the last patrol before the Battalion left the Province.

To explain a little further for those of you that dont reside in the UK.

Rememberance day is a day where we remember those who have fallen in all wars/on active service, but mainly WW1 and WW2.

The Royal British Legion sell poppies (made from paper and plastic) which we all should wear with pride, well I do, the money raised goes to help look after the veterans.

We still have soldiers left that fought in the first world war!

Its a great thing that we do, and simply remembering those who fell and those that survived, hopefully will make us think before we have another world war.

Me too!! My poppy is still pinned to my bag actually.

Poppies??? That reminds me of Flanders Fields!

Chris remember this??? You Lurking??? :D

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
