Remote controlled PC

Hi

Can anyone recommend me a free software to remote control my pc?
I usually only use my laptop for development, but my standalone computer which I use for mixing is a quad core and ten times as powerful as my laptop.. (remote desktop or something like that.. I have no clue what it's usually called)

You also want to make sure Remote Desktop is enabled on your desktop pc. Right click on My Computer, Properties, Remote and check the appropriate box.

I use tight VNC myself.

www.logmein.com. You wont have to fuck with ports unless you've got hitler controlling your network. Locally you should really be configuring vnc or rdp tbh.

Remote desktop is a bit of a security mess, and VNC isn't much (if any) better. Be very careful with whatever you need to do.

I always had the impression that about 8 out of 10 security updates for XP are related to remote control security issues.

Little late but I'll recommend VNC too, don't ever trust RDC.
