Which Anti virus software should I use on laptop?

+1 for MSE. Non-intrusive, low overhead and seems to work well.

MSE is the fastest of the bunch. I think that it runs on a lower level than all the rest ( I think there was a legal response from AV companies).
I use Avast free btw. It's ok on resources and I like it's features.

See, I obviously know better than to go to any suspicious sites, run suspicious scripts/programs, etc., but I remember for example a few years back when I reformatted my computer and was reinstalling everything; I opened the browser to download all my free software again (from legit sites of course), only to find out that a virus had somehow wormed its way onto my computer just through that, and it was causing it to try to shut down on its own (this timer kept popping up), and I had to download a Microsoft security update to get rid of it.

Granted, this was ages ago (pre-MSE, maybe even pre-XP), but it was enough to make me adopt a better safe than sorry mentality! (and like I said, Kaspersky's impact on my 4 year old machine's performance is acceptable)

Yes that was XP! Maybe "Sasser" or "Blaster" viruses
I guess it was related to some ISP providers that was letting some trojan/malware sending data packets across the internet.
It was incredible that I was getting the virus on a totally clean PC without even opening a website.

I think anti virus software is a huge waste of time, but if you have to, use MSE.

MSE here too

And btw, if in any case you feel something's wrong that MSE didn't catch, there's not much some MBAM, Hitman Pro and TDSSKiller won't catch (all free).

MSE fan here as well. Works great, been using it since like 2009 when I first got Windows 7
