I just watched this film Requiem for a Dream. Anyone else
seen it? I was bored during most of it, it just got annoying
and stressing. Watching these stupid people ruining their
lives...hehe... But at the end it just got to me, dunno how.
And now I'm sitting here, and I feel all messed up and
thinking: "We're all fucked" lol >:eek:P I feel like I'm in a
bubble, unable to communicate properly...

Aki, what other films are like this one, or is this the only
one?

Shit, I'm glad I'm me!

I'll second all of those, especially Jacob's Ladder; it leaves you with the same sense of bewilderment and frustration.

Whoi whoi! Thanks!!) I never really watch films, and if
I do I barely remember them, but this one I will never
forget! Aki, time to download all the films you mentioned
Duvall! Thankies again!

*Rubs eyes* *Smashes head into the wall*

The last trailer for The Two Towers used the Requiem for a Dream theme (by Kronos Quartet) - worked very nicely with images of Helm's Deep being seiged..

Lemme think of some other movies now..

if you like fucked up editing: JFK
if you like drug movies: the Salton Sea
if you like drama: The Unbearable Lightness of Being
if you don't hate Bergman: Hour of the Wolf, Seventh Seal
if you don't hate Fellini: 8 1/2
if you like Ewan McGregor: The Pillow Book
and for the helluvit, any David Lynch movie

these are just some films that got an emotional reaction from me for one reason or another..

hope it helps.. I'm having problems coming up with titles these days. too much weed maybe ;)

Awesome! This is great of you Duvall!)
I'll have enough movies for the whole year! Hehe...
Now I know who to pm if I need anything new to
watch! >)

And as for the Requiem soundtrack, yuck...hehe...
It was part of what made it so annoying for me. I was
about to stop watching the film cause of it, but thought,
there _has to be_ something about this film, as the
people who like this film totally flips! >:eek:P

My favorite film EVER. It touches every aspect all at once making it divine, amazing camera work and amazing soundtrack, amazing actors and directing.. I think it is a monument of how movies should be.

Blackspirit, how are you today? :)

what's up with all these Requiem for a Dream threads?
Yes, I liked it. The soundtrack was beautiful.

I also loved Jacob's ladder ;)

Now, no more Requiem For A Dream threads or I kill ye! jk

That has sincerely been the only film ive ever seen where i was uncomfortable watching it. It left me with a sense of disgust at the end, and i had trouble talking to some of my "druggie" friends for a good month after seeing that.

For these reasons, ill go to say its the best movie ive seen in the last 2 years.
