Haha, no, I'm pretty sure it's an MD421, which despite the big line going across the front is still a front address mic (I believe, I've never used one)

You're right. I've always thought the big line going across the front is annoying, though, and I wonder if the mic would sound different/better without it? It really does imply side address, I wouldn't be surprised if some people starting out make the mistake of assuming it is.
