I just picked it up from a friend and I haven't used it yet, but I've read some people on here use it quite a bit...

Any tips/tricks for getting started?

Use the Recto Rock preset in the Nikko bank to get started. Use GuitarHack's cab impulses. Tweak your input levels. Experiment with adding a tubescreamer.

The cab variables change the tone quite a lot too. Distortion, Crunch, Treble, Bass... all of them can do some serious tweaking.

Can you direct me to the cab impulse link? How do I install them?

Also, can I install amp impulses? How do I go about doing this, if its even a good idea...?

I agree though, this guy deserves every penny and more for Revalver! If you're not using a legal copy, use one or uninstall it.


If you ARE using a legal copy/demo, disregard this and MK's statement!

No. Its definitely legit... a buddy of mine converted to mac and gave me all the PC stuff he doesn't need anymore, including some software and plugins... hence me having waves diamond, ssl... etc... I definitely couldn't afford to buy all these plug ins...



All I got were discs and the cards/iLok serial things...

No. Like I said.. I picked it up from him. I didn't pay him for anything... I've known him for about 11 years and he is pretty much giving me the stuff he doesn't use anymore, like a hand-me-down... its not a pirated copy, like I'm being accused of receiving. He gave me his old computer, digi 002, etc etc... he didnt have a few things loaded on it when he gave it to me and is going through boxes of things he doesnt use anymore...

So. yes. "I picked it up from a friend".

What does he use instead of the diamond and the ssl? I'm curious since everybody seems to love those plugs in general.

I think he still uses those... but the TDM version... which means he had to buy them again... I guess...

He also does mostly Pop type stuff now (kringe) so I'm not sure what he uses... not that any of this is relevant...
