Blackwater Park used to be my favourite song but now my fave is Dirge for November...i love how it goes from pure prettiness to RAAAAAHHHHHness and tings!
I'll have to agree with the ol'Soooooze meister there..... but my faveourite was, and is, and indeed always will be APRIL ETHEREAL...... fuckin superb!!!!!!!

yeah blackwater park's one of those albums you have to experience as a whole to get the full effect of all the songs. what you hear and remember after you listen to that album is what makes it great...
i'd agree with satan dude...would that be u jon? when i'd listened to it a few times then i reflected on what i had just heard. Its definately an album i have to listen to from start to finish, i cant just listen to one song.

I think Mike called that song a "riff orgy" in one interview. I think it definitely has Opeth's thickest riffs to date.
