The Maddening Disdain has the best riff ever I wouldnt doubt their latest get alot of hate around here, not alot of fans of the tech death

probably not at all what you're after, but Mithotyn write awesome and interesting riffs. not 'odd' though (like sodding Messhuggah), just folk metal riffs.

Add 2112 to that, just for the epic title track, best song they've ever written.

Chronicles is the best Rush album.
In fact, I think Chronicles is one of the best 'greatest hits' albums ever. Besides Chronicles, it's a toss-up between 2112, S/T, or Moving Pictures. Rush is an amazing band.
