I don't know if there are a lot of hockey fans here, but a legend is dead.

RIP Pat Burns, one of the best coaches in NHL history who finally got the Stanley Cup he deserved with the New Jersey Devils in 2003.

He will be missed.

I saw Pat Burns behind the bench many times - never for my team, but he was still a great coach and hockey was better for having him in it. Rest well Coach Burns.

He was all class, and all heart. I took a lot of flack from my friends for being thrilled when he was named coach of the Bruins (given he was a former Habs coach) but I didn't care. He was a good coach, I remember faking I was sick at my internship so I could skip out early and go home to watch his introductory press conference. He could scream and laugh with the best of them.

I raised a glass in his honor last night. RIP Burnsie.
