I must say - I'm excited to see what they (or Malmsteen) comes up with on this collaboration. I'm not a fan of the last couple Malmsteen albums unfortunately - so... crossing fingers!

Nothing against him, but I'm not a huge Malmsteen fan. (Ladies and gentlemen - start your flamming.) I do like Ripper's vocals thought, so maybe this will help me see Malmsteen's material in a new light.

I also kind of wish that Ripper would just do/focus on his own thing, instead of continuously joining bands that he inevitably gets kicked out of/let go from. I understand he's got to make his choices as he sees best for his career. He's a really great singer and hopefully this one will work out for him in the long run. I have heard that Malmsteen is difficult to work with, but I'm not sure how true that is. Best of luck to Ripper in this new venture! :headbang:

And everyone felt soooo bad for Ripper for leaving Iced Earth, meanwhile he ups and joins another big-name band. ;)

Arggg I want another Beyond fear album!!111

Anyways cool news. Malmsteen has always been one of my favorite musicians.

I really thought this time around he would want a more stable job, apparently not. Like others have pointed out, he needs to be careful not to spill any water on Yngwie, lest he unleash the fucking fury.

This will be very cool, but with that said i wont count this cd till it is done and in my hand. Malmsteen is impossible to work with, so if Ripper wants this adventure to work, he should take some "Freak Kitchen" lyrics to heart and "Speak When Spoken Too". To be honest i will be shocked if this ever sees the light of day.

I am a HUGE Malmsteen fan, and am quite happy to see Doogie leave... but with that said, I am not sure what to think of this announcement. It was VERY obvious (at least to me), that Yngwie had to shake some things up. I have an open mind on this collaboration, but am currently perplexed thinking about what this union is going to create. We shall see.... :)

Yeah...Doogie White didn't seem to fit with Yngwie IMO. l like Yngwie & l like Tim...so l'm hoping this works out. But knowing Yngwie's MO & Ripper's run of luck...it's probably one...maybe 2 releases at best.

So Ripper thought about not joining Iced Earth when Jon was intoxicated and going off about prune juice. I can't wait for The Ripper to get caught in Malmsteen's Unleashing of the Fucking Fury sometime.

I have to say, I find it somewhat odd that Tim would continue to jump from project to project, where he has little control. You would have thought the Iced Earth experience would have soured him on controlling guitar players. I'm guessing Tim was given certain assurances, from Yngwie. And perhaps Yngwie has mellowed a bit. After all, Doogie was in the band for over six years. I'll definitely be interested to see what comes out of this collaboration.

THis piece of news is GREAT!!!! I did not like Doogie White in the Yngwie band. he was horrible live, especially trying to sing anything that was not on the 2 albums he recorded with THE MAN.

On a side note, knowing Ripper's past and how vocal legends have come back to replace him in these bands....DO you think that Jeff Scott Soto will come back to Yngwie in a few years??? LOL

I think the bottom like is that Ripper likes being a hired hand. I wonder if he is just doesn't believe in his own material enough to give it his full undivided attention.
