Hey everyone....I know it's probably already been discussed a billion times but what are all your opinions on Ripper taking the place of Barlow in Iced Earth?
I, personally think that Barlow made Iced Earth, he was the reason I started listening to them in the first place....what are your thoughts?

My initial thought is that Tim Owens no longer uses Ripper now that he's out of Judas Priest.

As far as the topic, I love Matt's voice but Tim Owens is superior to him in almost every way. Iced Earth's music was written for a voice like his!

Barlow is the man and I don't think Iced Earth is the same without him. He made that band for me, even though John's guitar playing hooks me into the band Barlow's voice makes it complete because of the emotion he puts into the songs.

Although I really haven't heard enough to make a complete decision, I do
prefer Barlow just because of his unique sound and the emotion he conveys
to me. Ripper was killer live and is a great singer but to me his style just
make IE sound like another Euro-power metal band. To each his own though....

Hehehe....I went "surfing" on some of the other forums in here and saw that everyone was extremely passionate about this subject :OMG: .....no wonder no one has really replied.
Thanks to everyone who has!
