Road-trip albums

I can take pretty much any of my cd's and throw it into my car cd player and let it play all the way through, so long as there are miles ahead of me.

Agreed.

But I tend to lean more towards certain albums on long drives, such as...

Death - The Sound of Perseverance
Demilich - Nespithe
Children of Bodom - Hatebreeder
Satyricon - Nemesis Divina
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas

Other than that, most anything is good for long drives (and plane trips).

few more that help me along the road:
alice in chains-jar of flies
death-symbolic
anathema-judgement
hypocrisy-hypocrisy (selfinflicted overload, last track, will help put the pedal to the floor)

Brocas Helm - Defender of the Crown
Hibria - Defying the Rules
Death SS - Black Mass
The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Twilight of the Idols
Hammers of Misfortune - The Locust Years
Reverend Bizarre - II: Crush The Insects
Doomsword - Let Battle Commence
The Mushroom River Band - Music For The World Beyond
Witchfinder General - Death Penalty
Orange Goblin - Theiving From The House of God

Those ten albums I could just imagine being the ultimate in driving music.

Then of course for more scenic drives:

Agalloch - The Mantle
Empyrium - Where At Night The Wood Grouse Sleeps
Primordial - Spirit The Earth Aflame

sometimes, i prefer keep calm when i drive, so, my best choose are:

PORCUPINE TREE - DEADWING
OPETH - DAMNATION
RIVERSIDE - OUT OF MYSELF
LACUNA COIL - LACUNA COIL
KARMAKANIC - ENTERING THE SPECTRA
PAIN OF SALVATION - REMEDY LANE

soft.

Superb top 3 choices!
Driving late at night...light up a spliff...and let the prog take you there

"its fun to take a trip...to put acid in your veins"
da daa duh duh da duh duh...SUPERNAUT!!!

What? It's a great idea man! What's the saying? Turn on, tune in, drop out? Drugs never hurt anyone!

. The only exception is for CD's with those extended periods of silence, like on Mastodon's Blood Mountain, or Nevermore's Politics Of Ecstasy or Dreaming Neon Black etc. I really 'ate that shit & I have to skip through it.

I prefer to listen to something upbeat and fast paced. My car stereo has been dominated by Protest the Hero recently. I know, probably too emo for most here, but it's easy to sing along to and really energetic. I have a problem speeding when listening to them though.
