Why are there problems with Rob's fashion?

I keep reading how the beanie, the pants, and the guitar aren't Anthrax, but let's keep in mind that Anthrax has previously:

Plus how is a purple guitar worse than:

The defense rests, your honor.

Honestly Antrax hasn't done anything interesting in years and years. They have been playing the same show for like 5-6 years! Its like a fucking nostalgia act already. I HATE THAT SHIT.

They have the fucking singalong parts, they have the stupid little break parts where they might break into some other cover song. They have the crappy intros instead of just playing the song.

I mean give me a fucking break. This is not metal. Not even close.

Don't get me wrong I will definitely buy the new album but I don't have my head up my ass. If it sucks, Oh well. The guys got older and play different stuff. I guess its my problem I am stuck liking music that no one plays anymore.

I'm pretty sure paying tribute to Dio is 100% metal if that's what you're referring to, plus Anthrax was the only one of the four to do it

i think with Rob it's just his look over all. Yes the other guys in Anthrax have looked goofy over the years but they purposely looked goofy to fit what ever image they were going for at the time. Now Anthrax is supposedly this more 'serious' band.

With Rob the beanie doesn't work. I get it every now and then. But he is making it his 'signature' look at it just doesn't work on him. Some dudes can put a beanie on and look 'cool'. But that is not Rob. He looks like an idiot. ESPECIALLY when he has the long hair under it and it is 100 degrees outside for some festival.

The purple guitar just adds to the mix. Rob is not some really 'skinny' guy and he wears those really tight black pants and a cut off shirt thing. I don't even know. But he really needs to have a big time make over.

Yeah I probably sound like a homosexual judging another mans appearance but whatever.

I saw photos and video before he had this 80's / monster magnet looking outfit and he looked a lot 'cooler' on stage.

i am not saying Joey doesnt look like douche either with the mullet but one thing about joey he has always looked that way from the beginning so what can you do.

Frank, Scott, and Charlie all look like they know whats up. Rob just doesn't fit in IMO... and again this is all my opinion, if you don't like it put me on ignore :)

That is fairly true. But they have been on huge festival tours for the better part of the last few years. All of those tours were nestolgia type tours. Slayer did the entire Seasons In the Abyss, Megadeth did Rust In Peace.

Anthrax got Joey back and did the 'greatest hits' from his era. In all honesty that is what the majority of the fans at each of those shows wanted to hear.

If you follow Anthrax as much as a lot of people on here it would get boring to see the same songs over and over. But when they play for 100,000 people that really haven't followed Anthrax since the Joey era I am sure they want to hear Caught in A mosh, Indians, Antisocial, Got The Time etc.

But this is all going to be changing soon with the new album

Now we will be hearing about half of the new album live and then you will get to hear Caught in a Mosh, Indians, Got The Time, Anti Social, and I am the Law

Ive not been the biggest rob fan over the years but c'mon. The solos from the new songs sound kick ass. Do we really need to argue about the colour of a guitar and a hat? Seems a bit ridiculous

I'm clueless as to why anyone would complain about it. To me it doesn't matter what they wear, how their hair looks, or what color the guitar is. I'm in it for the music!!!

The hat doesn't bother me. In reality, the fact that they band wore FUCKING SWEATPANTS to the SoE shoot bothers me more. Because nothing says "I don't give a shit about life" more than sweatpants.

And lemme ask this: would a white sweatshirt with no sleeves and Tweety Bird be more metal than Rob's beanie? Or a guitar with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Really? These were just as bad or worse, IMO.

And as stated above, the solos are the important thing here. And for Anthrax solos, the best in my mind is still Rob's from "Ghost." Love that shit.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ruled sir. Anytime you have the chance to see mutant ninjas, you gotta do it. :D

K, I'll give you the TMNT thing.

BUT you have to admit the Tweety Bird sweatshirt was just fucking awful. Much worse then a beanie.

Yeah, that pretty much sucked. That said, it doesn't matter. At least they never took to the stage wearing nothing but socks over their schlongs.
