Rock Harvest

Maybe cops and soldiers should not have children then. Seems pretty goddamn selfish to have children while working in such a high risk job anyway. Still those children are no different than a son or daughter of a bus driver. They would not have asked for their parent to die in a wreck.
Do police not get life insurance?

How much more tactless and insenstive can you get? Mind you, I don't disagree with you about the festival failing, but most everything else... No comment.

Let me clear something up here; I have not said a single thing about my feelings for the families of these people or even about anyone dying, it has nothing at all to do with being tactless or insensitive. I'm saying one person's grief is no more or less deserving of fuckin compassion than another's no matter if they wear a goddamn uniform or are born to someone who does.
So you tell me who is more insensitive; one who will not compare grief and suffering and decide which is greater, or those who suggest that oh "gosh this is a police man's family."

Ok a charity for the families of men and women who die while doing there jobs. Seems a charity for the families of those gunned down by cops and soldiers would make more sense.

So why exactly were you sponsoring a festival dedicated to a cause that you disagree with so vehemently?

Well aren't you clever.
I still support the idea of the charity and even the reason it is set up. I'm not oppose to the idea of charity not even this one per-say. Perhaps this is the wrong thread to debate the philosophy of charity I guess. I'm not really even focused on the charity in question as much as the idea of charity in general; how it is sold and how most people approach it and accept it. Admittedly my points are not clear and their delivery is often to harsh for most people to understand. The idea of charity is good I will never disagree with that and I have not. I question what makes one more worthy than another, and the idea that people are not charitable by nature. So yes this was the wrong place to divert into what could have been another discussion.
I remember once having a similar debate in a religions class and only one guy and the professor understood and agreed with my points.

I'm not trying to be "clever", but you seemed extremely against this cause and if this festival was going on smoothly without having the current issues it's having, I wouldn't imagine they'd be happy with what you're saying about it.

I've heard good things about Corsair, and it's always good to see TTD.

So, wait.. that DDead guy signed up, defends the festival and says that bands that are, in many cases, scraping by because of their day jobs should pay for their own travel to play for free just because its a charity, and then disappears?

.....just saying...

What a slap in the face to TTD!!!!

I haven't liked what I have heard of CORSAIR.
Sounds like 90's college rock to me.

Lee (Pate) here loves them though.
They are a Shadow Kingdom band.

Why? They got a good time. It's a Thursday, a work day for people, so they'll be more inclined to see TTD and then leave before it gets too late. Going on around 8-10 on a week day always seems to work out better.
