What about: Yngwie Malmsteen, Alexi Laiho, Roope Latvala, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers, Alexander Beyrodt (Silent Force), John Petrucci, Satch, Paul Gilbert, and countless other guitarists that are WAY more talented then Jimi Hendrix. And speed does not neccisarily constitute "greatness" overal skill does, along with improvisation. this article should be titled "100 Most Influential Guitarists Of All Time."

Hendrix is one of the best ever.

What pisses me off is Jack White. He has shit for talent. White Stripes are trendy, not real music. 'Elitist Rock'.

it should be called 'the 100 most popular guitarists dumb people know of, today' is steve vai even on there? maybe i didnt look hard enough, but leaving paul gilbert steve vai and joe satriani off is an atrocity on that kind of list. randy rhoads at 85!? regardless of order, cobain and jack white shouldnt even be on there, at all. of course alexi should be on there, no surprise he isnt. at least one from iron maiden should be though. and as much as i hate to admit it, yngwie should also definately be on there. that's shit. what about non-rock guitarists too? segovia, django, so what if it's not that type of a list, it needs a better name. but any stupid list has to piss people off.

everyone knows this list is complete bullshit, so don't stress about it. can anyone confirm that this list is all american guitarists?

<that list is gay and lying>

HAHAHAHAHAHA

dethfire: pete townsend was the guitarist of the who, eric Clapton is British, Angus Young from Scotland, Brian May from England, there are others but i dont know them all. Thanks for your input guys.

Yeah that list is definitely shit. I'm sorry, but if all we're talking about here is who's the best, then where the hell are Yngwie, Michael Romeo, John Petrucci, Alexi, Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, etc. I don't think I saw Vai or Satch on the list either.

This list has to be one that readers voted on, and the readers are definitely retarded. How the hell are Randy Rhoads and Van Halen so low? I'm also sick of people thinking Hendrix is so great.

originally they are from Scotland, but they immigrated to australia cuz scotland got so shitty or something. I saw it on the Behind the Music for AC/DC. its all on there
