Romantic Metal ?

Well, Moonspell (Sin/Pecado), Opeth (Still Life), Katatonia, Theatre of Tragedy, Green Carnation, Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Pale Forest (u c - the more "gothic" direction?!?)

Opeth are so very romantic, only look at the covers, the lyrics, the stories and of course the music!!!!!!!
My Dying Bride is very romantic too.
So is Moonspell, Saturnus, Novembre, Katatonia, The sins of Thy beloved, Pendragon (more rock than metal anyway).

Romantic in what sense? Romantic as in love or Romantic as in literary movement or Romantic as in the musical style between the Classical period and impressionism?

i'm searching for romantic (love) metal. but metal always have sense of agony and no regret and anger stuff in it. i end up listening to romantic (love) rock.

There is a local band ( dream of nebiros ) that is doom ( boring doom not good doom ) and they call themselves and i quote "Romantic Anal Metal" but i is nothing but a joke and does not goes beyond that cause songs usually talk about men genitals and other rather mature subjects.

...Cannibal Corpse or Suffocation.

They're both pretty romantic. If you want some REALLY romantic metal, check out the first GOREFEST album.

I've never thought of metal as romantic, but of course, Opeth comes to mind. But usually, the images and lyrics of metal aren't pleasant enough to be deemed romantic - more tragic.

A band I heard yesterday called Entwine was VERY romantic, probably the most romantic metal I have ever heard.
Agalloch is kind of romantic...
Lord Belial- Lamia that is the only Black Metal love song ever.

And of course the obvious bands:
Theater of Tragedy
The Sins of Thy Beloved
My Dying Bride
Moonspell
etc. etc. etc.
