We all know that next SymphonyX album will be "darker"...
Do you think that Romeo will use 7-strings guitars to make his sound darker?
I think that He'd be great with 2 strings too :D

lol Symphony X Would never sound like KORN... Thats lke saying Kamelot will sound Like Lamb of God, or Symphony X sounding like canabal corpse... Their is NO comparassing lol. I doubt they would use the 7-string, but even if they did-they have thweir own unique way of going about it to make it sound 'Symphony x'ish'

I think I'm goign tog et copyrights on that word, Symphony X'ish!

7 strings are alright, but I don't like them because I don't have one so I can't cover certain songs.

But sometimes they are put to good use, such as how Nevermore used them on their last 2 albums.

I hope S-X don't use 7-strings and stick to their original formula.

Wow, Romeo would have an extra minor 3rd in his range. Seriously, those 3 more notes on the lower end, since he already tunes down a whole step, would really make a difference.

And 7-strings don't necessarily mean Korn. Ever hear of a guy named Steve Vai?

theres no downside to a 7 string, i think SX would sound good with them. Saying they are bad just cause certain artists you don't like use them is ridiculous.

I can think of one downside. I think many bands who use 7 strings just kinda rely on the sheer low-ness of the B string to write "heavy" riffs, whereas if you were to play the same riff on the E string it'd be dull and uninteresting. As much as I love Nevermore, I think even they have a few riffs that are guilty of this.

right:err: , Symphony X will comp[letely change their style and sound because of an instrument change . . . . I think a few songs with 7 string would be :headbang:

Well, he did say the album would be darker. And we all know that means really low powerchord riffs and really heavy songs throughout. So the seven-string thing is inevitable. And I still think that B, C, and Db on the low end of the guitar would force the band to completely revamp their style.

...Okay, </sarcasm> Sorry. :D

if they use the seven they would sound like Adagio,so this would be a good opportunity for adagio fans to call symphony x adagio rip off
