Hi All, who are the first bands to start the gothenburg style of music. can DT be called the prototype of this style? is Entombed in this genere?

I would think At the Gates..........In Flames was seriously early, so was DT.

The first actual bands to play Gothenburg styled stuff were Dark Tranquillity and Eucharist which both made their first demos in 1989. I think Dark Tranquillity was called Septic Boiler back then...

No, Entombed weren't Gothenburg.

cool.. someone should make a thread asking how dark tranquillity feels to have been there when it started and now there are hundreds of bands influenced by them.

yeah for some reason I remember seeing the cover of the demo it was like a big white cover with "In Flames Demo 93' " If my memory is starting to serve me..........
