Rush influenced traditional metal

There really should be a good find to fit the op. If rush had had a different singer and been a metal band, they would have been one of the best.

They actually would since there's no official sound for traditional metal singers. Compare Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford and Paul Di'Anno for starters.

Weirdly enough, Geddy Lee sounds more like Halford than he does either of the other two.

I dunno. I enjoy singers like Halford, but I still really don't like Geddy's singing.

And this is coming from someone who enjoys Rush.

Yeah, that's a great single, although unfortunately nothing else I've heard from them (mostly just live bootlegs; their albums don't seem promising at all) touches it.

Rush is cool, I saw a live concert of theirs awile back, but as far as sounding metal would disagree. Rush is prog-rock. Ofcourse some metal is influenced by rock music.
