Ruun booklet - weird!

Get your hands on every thing Enslaved have done. To me, their musical evolution or progression from Hordanes Land up to Vertebrae is nothing, if not phenominal. Making a couple of great albums is very good, but the key is consistency, you know, year in and year out or every 2 years making an excellent contribution to said bands specific genre. Enslaved encapsulates this consistency. Porcupine Tree is another band that has been stellar, imo though they had a bit of a drop-off starting at Deadwing. Enslaved have continued pushing and pushing, whatever musical boundaries they are trying to move past. Hopefully, they will continue to do so. They have yet to disappoint me. Another band that is consistent was mentioned by someone else, and I agree that which being the mighty Esoteric.

Enslaved is one of the most consistantly good bands out there. IMO they've never had an album worse than really good.. Ranging from really good to mindblowingijustshitmypants albums, i love them all. I'm noticing a lot of folk though showering they're later phase with praise but dismissing they're earlier albums. But i love everything even back to their Nema demo (the only release i dont own *sadface*)... Just listened to vertebrae today, while doin the dishes.. and it's replay value is excellent! It's good enough to get me doin house chores, so it must be good! But yeah I've noticed Ivar going by various odd names in album credits.

Comparing them Opeth, i was a huge fan of opeth around the still life BWP days, like slavering at the mouth fanboyism.. But I have just listened to them too much. Way too much. I know all the albums too well, and although I can still enjoy their albums to some extent, they're long long long term replay value (ie 9 years) just doesn't compete with enslaved! But then again when i started listening to Opeth, I only knew of Blodhemn, which didn't grab my attention. But then I heard Storre enn tid - Tyngre enn natt, and then (793) Slaget Om Lindesfarne.

But meh both bands are great! Would happily suffer a long manbaby labour for either of them.

I don't know, I've already spent a lot of money on Enslaved stuff. I'll get Below the Lights some time soon though.

Enslaved is at the top of the metal mountain, every bit as awesome as Opeth. They are masters of their craft, and I could never say enough good things about them. I fucking love every note Enslaved has ever released!!!!!

Oh, and Vertebrae - :OMG: just to awesome for words to do it justice.
