Don't you just love mixing rehearsals recorded live (meaning one guitar performance) and as a bonus: with only one OH mic? I had a great time creating a "stereo" image out of those. The vocal track sounded like there are a bunch of blankets over the mic. They didn't record to a click, so no quantizing.

Anyway, here's what I came up with after half a day's work:
Mix

and here are the summed raw tracks
for those of you who are curious.

You could try doubling the guitars, pan them hard left and right and then add a hint of delay on one of the tracks. It might help a bit more with the stereo image.

I think it sounds great though, considering what you had to work with.

Actually, for the guitars I did pretty much the thing you're saying but instead of adding delay I moved one of the tracks a few ms to the right. Fortunately, the cab has been recorded with two mics at the two different speakers, not that it's that much help when it still one take.

Thanks for listening :), it's good to know I've made a decent mix out of that

I agree about the samples and much as I hate to save time on mixing I'll have to leave it as it is. I'm pretty much doing the band a favour since they are friends of mine and I'm pretty busy ATM. And besides, the songs are going to be for Myspace.
