I havent tried those monitors but I used Samson Resolv 65a monitors before I upgraded
to the Adam A7's.
The 65a's were very comfortable to use but they didnt translate very well.
My mixes tended to lack mids and had too much bass.
Thats just my two cents. Hopefully someone who has used those monitors can chime in.
Avoid them! TBH, DON'T buy them, unless you are on a really tiny budget!
I mixed a song for my band with those monitors and the final result was terrible, even though it sounded really nice (only!) on these. The final result was REAAAALLY bassy, as these monitors can't really give you a clear picture of the bass mid/bass area. As a result i ended up mixing visually and by "trial and error" method to fix the bass problem, so i will never use them again!
If you want Samsons, you need to get Rubicons. I have a pair, and I think they're very good and transparent, especially being my first monitors. I hear they're all that's worth buying from Samson's monitor line, but I can't vouch for that myself.
I think the name of those monitors is also saying a lot. I wouldn't use those for other purposes than media, maybe check some mixes through them.

there used to be some article floating around somewhere where the rubicons were put up against a bunch of higher-end monitors in blind tests, and were pretty well universally picked over a lot of much more expensive models

Yes, I think it was Computer Music or Future Music who did this in an article of theirs, can't remember which one though. That article was among other things a huge factor to my purchase, which I made completely blindfolded without ever actually hearing those monitors with my own ears. It was risky, but luckily proved to be worth it.
