Sanctuary vs Nevermore

The musician in me prefers Nevermore
The Guitarist in me prefers Nevermore
The metal head in me prefers Sanctuary

Nevermore are musically more enjoyable. They stretch out and bring different influences into the picture to give the music a very broad scope.

Sanctuary was balls out metal. A total adrenaline filled powerhouse.

Vocally, early never more (EP and POE) were preferable for me to the newer stuff. Not that WD doesn't still sound great. I just prefer the "angry" young WD better then the new mellowed (a little) out philosophical WD

Lyrically Nevermore is king though. Battle Angels < The Learning. No contest

I do love both. I CAN NOT WAIT to hear the new stuff. Probably one of the most anticipated releases of my life.

So i guess it would be
1) Nevermore
2) Sanctuary
3) Nevermore

When you just want to dig into an all out huge piece of juicy flesh.....

For the finer distinguished tastes. When you want to sit back and fully enjoy the meal and savor every bite.

I enjoy both bands, but I prefer Nevermore. Nevermore's music has a much thicker, darker atmosphere about it, and the musicianship and songwriting are also a lot stronger.

I prefer Warrel's lower-register vocals to his falsetto. I think the tone of his voice has improved a lot with age, too.
