Saw Slayer last nignt....

I hate Cobo Arena. Such a shitty place to see any band. They should have went with Van Andel or the Deltaplex for this show. I would have been there then.

I've got a feeling the new Slayer album is gonna suck. Divine Intervention was the last Slayer album that was really good. Since then each new Slayer album has been weaker than the previous and that's never a good sign imo. They are still worth seeing live however.

i disagree. every they put out is good. christ illusion will be the best album of the year and i herd 3 songs from the new album cause i got a sampler cd. it fucking ruled.

I think Seasons is the last album they made that was REALLY good. I can enjoy the others but they're good, rather than really good.
And Undisputed Attitude is fucking rubbish.

I don't get this. I don't love this record but I've enjoyed listening to it over the years.

I've listened to God Hates Us All in its entirety probably once. Unspired, and crappy, clunky lyrics by King, as usual. I wish he wouldn't try to write lyrics; he has no fucking clue about phrasing and melody and all that goes into a vocal line. When Tom writes lyrics, it's a world of difference. I don't have high hopes at all for the new record. Anyway, their best material is far behind them.

What is your sig from? What was Glenn on about with that amusing comment?
Ah! I'm glad you asked. This is from an interview he did with The Onion years ago, I think when I was still at university. Do you know The Onion? www.theonion.com
It started in Madison, WI, where I went to school; example headline from their early years:
BEER! IT KICKS ASS!
And the text is as follows: "Gimme a goddamned beer! Beer! Gimme a motherfuckin' beer, man! etc."

They started having interviews with people, and for all I know, this one could have been bullshit. They've run it twice over the years. Sadly, they don't have it in their online archives.
I just remember this quote and thought it was funny as hell.

Absolutely...GHUA is to me a brutal masterpiece, hearing it again makes me crave what's next. I shall have the new album the day it comes out, yes I shall:rock:

I saw the Unholy alliance tour two nights ago. Great show minus Mastodon sad excuse for music... Slayer were amazing as expected except there wasn't an encore! I think we might've pissed them off they got booed when they dedicated mandatory suicide to the soldiers in iraq...

I agree. God Hates Us All (best album of 2001) is excellent. Every song is great. A lot of people don't like it though. :err:
