say i order 4 graveland discs. . .

I'm quoting Dreamlord here - this is his recommendation list taken from our War Metal/NSBM thread:

Immortal Pride
Following the Voice of Blood
Thousand Swords
Raise Your Sword
Creed of Iron
Memory and Destiny

Check out evilmusic.com - although I've never bought from them so I can't really vouch for the site. In any case, it's the cheapest I've seen Graveland CDs.

You can also check out vinlandwinds.com, but beware lots of neo nazi / white pride symbolism if you can't handle that sort of thang...and they're expensive.

Well, some people will have different recommendations when it comes to Graveland. It really depends what you want. If you want Graveland material when they were a full on raw black metal band, you can get these:

Epilogue
In the Glare of Burning Churches
Carpathian Wolves
The Celtic Winter
Impaler's Wolves (this is just two song EP with two songs from Carpathian Wolves given the epic touch)

If you want the more epic Graveland, get any of these:

Thousand Swords
Immortal Pride
Following the Voice of Blood
Creed of Iron
Raise Your Sword
Memory and Destiny

Graveland also has a split CD with the nazi band, Honor. Honor has four songs, Graveland has 3. The Graveland songs are excellent, but Honor fucking sucks. So it's a judgment call.

If I had to pick four:

Immortal Pride
Following the Voice of Blood
Thousand Swords
and either Creed of Iron or Raise Your Sword. CoI has 5 songs, RYS has 3, so you make the call.

Hey BWD - is that an order you placed, or a shipment that arrived? Can you let me know if everything worked out ok with evilmusic.com, because if so, I'll place an order there myself. Not that I'm using you as a guinea pig or anything... :)

btw, JayKeely, i ordered these wednesday evening and they came the next monday! fucking sweet, eh?

Good to know - thanks. That's another reliable source at a very good price too. Their shipping is included right?

Let us know what you think of the albums.

yeah, too bad they don't have a massive catalogue (but what they have is good)

so far i've only listened to 'thousand swords' and it was damn good, well-composed, melodic black metal. killer stuff!

also, have you heard graveworm? their new one is a very strong record, even though it is very unremarkable (in terms of mind-blowing, ultra-creative kind of stuff). a typical, yet very good, black metal record. (this is after 1 listen)
