After my usual 2 days off every week, I come back to work for my graveyard shift 12-8am. When I arrive I am told by one of the other Slot Techs. that there is a problem with the Tech Computer, and that I am being blamed for it.
(um ok)
She tell's me about this program that just appeared and the PC has been slow. They even had the IT Manager ans IT Assistant Manager here to check the PC (this was on a friday) They said someone was on it during my shift on Friday and all this crap started happening to it.
Friday was my day off.
So it wasn't me but they are still pointing the finger at me.
What is even funnier is they couldn't get this PC to work how it use too!
2 other people tried to fix it when I was gone, couldn't get it to work.
I looked at it, saw a program running that was never running before
PC Tools Spyware Doctor.
I immediately knew what the fucking problem was, how to fix it (which isn't that hard!) Apparently this program was installed when I was gone, and it causes the PC to use 100% of it's RAM causing it to be so slow that you can't do anything and it freezes. Also another "security virus'" disabled the windows center or (Heur).
So i ran S&D and got more of it all out with RegRun (which is what I do when I got some stupid ass bullshit registries i need to deal with, or Hijack this but I was being to lazy to mess with a log)
zomg everything works just fine and no more MalWare bullshit!
I can't believe anyone here couldn't figure out and fix this problem, especially an IT Manager and Assistant Manager, then blame someone who wasn't even on shift when the problem occured. *facepalm*
These people don't know what to do with a PC other then hook shit up. Sad that I work in a nice casino with an IT department that can't fix something like this.
